Directions
The Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games is held at the Greater Smokies Event Grounds, 7930 E. Lamar Alexander Pkwy.,Townsend, TN 37882. Townsend is located along US 321 southeast of Maryville. Townsend has its own entrance into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and is the nearest city to Cades Cove. The SMSFG venue is just 45 minutes from downtown Knoxville, and 30 minutes from the airport; It’s easy to get here and get around!
Official Parking
$15 per car, cash only
On-Site Parking is Limited. Arrive Early!
On-site parking supports the Townsend AreaVolunteer Fire Department through a $15 cash only charge per car per day. The cost covers the full day and includes come and go parking.
Volunteers from the fire department manage the on-site parking. The official entrance gate for on-site parking is east of the Townsend Visitor’s Center off of US 321. Arrive early as Official On-site Parking is limited.
Courtesy carts move throughout the official parking area to transport guests with limited mobility to the Admission Gate and upon exit, back to their vehicle. However, the number of carts is limited and wait times may be necessary.
While motorized mobility devices are allowed, please be aware this is an outdoor venue where terrain and weather can affect the use of such devices. Private carts, like golf carts, are not permitted on the festival grounds, and the courtesy carts are only for transportation from the official parking area to the Admission Gate.
IMPORTANT! Please be aware that local businesses not associated with the Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games may offer off-site parking. Most of these are within walking distance of the SMSFG but are not as close as the official on-site parking, nor do they offer courtesy carts to the venue admission gate.
